Paint Your Pet: Acrylic Pet Portrait Workshop

• Transfer and block in your pet's likeness from a reference photo with accurate proportions
   
• Mix and layer acrylic paint to capture natural fur tones, undertones, and highlights
   
• Techniques for painting expressive eyes, noses, and fur texture
   
• Use brushwork to suggest texture and movement in fur or feathers
   
• Refine details and add finishing touches for a gallery-ready pet portrait

• 30x40cm canvas

• Please WhatsApp us a clear, well-lit, front-facing photo of your pet ahead of time, with good detail in the eyes and face, so we can print the image before the workshop.

• Open to beginners with some basic drawing or painting experience who want to develop their skills further. No professional art background required.

• Age limit: 13 years and above.

• Minimum 4 pax to conduct the workshop.

Mumtaz Maricar is a Singapore-based visual artist and art educator with over 26 years of experience spanning fine art, art direction, and teaching. She holds a Master's in Arts Pedagogy & Practice from Goldsmiths University of London, a BFA in Fine Arts from RMIT University, and a Diploma in Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts, the latter two awarded with Distinction.

Her paintings and installations have been shown in numerous group exhibitions across Singapore, including "You, Other; I, Another" at The Private Museum and "1000 Words" at Art Central, and she has lectured on Art History & Theory at LASALLE College of the Arts. Mumtaz paints instinctively across pencil, acrylic, oil, and mixed media, often beginning with a simple observation, memory, or emotion and building the work from there.

She specialises in mentoring students of all levels, from portfolio preparation for prestigious art programmes to guiding hobbyist painters and enjoys helping participants build real technical skill while creating work they're genuinely proud to bring home.
