This interactive pottery workshop invites children to explore the difference between functional and non-functional objects through hands-on clay making. Inspired by the iconic artists Christo & Jeanne-Claude, who transformed everyday items by wrapping and reshaping them, participants will first learn about the idea of functionality in art.
Guided step by step, they will create a small clay piece that begins as a functional pot or cup, and then experiment with altering, wrapping, or transforming it into a playful artwork.
The workshop combines art history with creative practice, encouraging children to think differently about how we use and see everyday objects.
